Drive Customers To Dealer Lots And Campgrounds With National Plan For Vacation Day
Mark your calendars—National Plan for Vacation Day is taking place next Tuesday, January 31st! Celebrated each year on the last Tuesday of January, National Plan for Vacation Day is meant to inspire Americans to plan their vacation for the entire year. With RVing as popular as ever, now is the time to encourage current RV owners—and those interested in buying one this year—to buy that RV and book their campsite today.
Americans are excited about the prospect of taking time off, especially in the wake of the pandemic. According to the US Travel Association, 80% of Americans report high degrees of excitement about travel this year. Last year’s National Plan for Vacation Day posts reached 25 million people on social media.
With such a popular day right around the corner, the RV industry can be a part of the conversation by promoting a local RV show or dealership and encouraging consumers to see the latest RVs. They can also encourage their audience to make campground reservations or take an RV road trip to a national or state park.
Passion for RVing has remained strong among consumers. A recent survey found that 37% of American leisure travelers, representing 67 million individuals, plan on taking an RV trip this year. Similarly, 50% of RVers say they are likely to purchase an RV in the next year— 14% more than last year. With Americans’ passion for RVs still booming, Association members can spend National Plan for Vacation Day encouraging consumers to include an RV trip in their vacation plans for 2023.
Members can promote National Plan for Vacation Day on social media using the RV-specific graphic above or using the US Travel Association’s toolkit here, which includes sample social media copy, graphics, and logo.
