Get Paid To Stay In An RV Without Internet
Have you found yourself gazing down at your phone’s screen time report asking, “I spent how much time scrolling through social media?” More of us than ever are working and staying at home during the pandemic. This means we’re logging far more screen time than usual, leading to “Zoom fatigue” and less time staying active.
A digital detox may be in order.
Many Americans have already gotten the itch to get outside, causing RV sales and rentals to skyrocket in 2020. Given how much time we’ve all spent online in 2020, the folks from SatelliteInternet.com wanted to find a way to help someone tune out the world and get back in tune with nature.
One random weekend warrior, ready for awe-inspiring outdoor action, will get paid $1,000 to give up technology for a weekend and camp in an RV at a US national park. The winner will rent an RV (which will be reimbursed along with food) and head to the National Park campsite of their choice on the dates you choose. After getting their tank refilled by the digital detox, the RVer will use a mobile hotspot (or hit the local gas station or cafe for Wi-Fi) on the third night to share your experience online.
The catch? The winner won’t be able to capture Instagram-worthy shots on their phone or tweet about how fresh the smell of pine is—no technology allowed beyond what is needed to reach the destination safely (at least until the third night).
While this may sound like an easy task, you have to ask yourself, “When was the last time I went 48 hours without checking my phone?”
SatelliteInternet.com is currently looking for someone to start their digital detox and a winner will be chosen on September 23, 2020.
