South Bend Tribune: Elkhart County's RV Industry Continues Booming
A growing interest in camping and travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus continue to push production at recreational vehicle factories in the region.
Most segments of the industry are now seeing gains as dealers are working to fulfill the demand of consumers, who have jumped into outdoor activities because of the perceived safety of outdoor activities like camping and boating.
With more people having the option of working or learning remotely right now, manufacturers are expecting that strong demand will continue at a strong pace well into the autumn, a time when sales traditionally start slowing down, said Monika Geraci, a spokeswoman for the trade group. “We’ve heard stories of families who are working or studying at campsites. It’s a chance to see some history first hand.”
