65 Million People Plan To Go RVing This Year
Summer may be ending but RVing remains a year-round activity with 65 million Americans planning on taking an RV trip this year. More than a third of leisure travelers surveyed say they plan on renting an RV and 26% plan on buying an RV this year.
The top three reasons for considering RV travel include having the flexibility to do so because of remote work or school, an increased interest in exploring the outdoors, and desire to travel more with family. Other motivations include financial-related reasons, such as RV travel fitting into the budget, and feeling as though RVing is safer than other forms of travel. The least popular response was unreadiness to take other kinds of trips.
“Even with other forms of travel returning, the desire to use an RV to get outdoors and experience an active outdoor lifestyle is stronger than ever,” said President and CEO of the RV Industry Association, Craig Kirby. “RVing has been cemented as a mainstream travel option that is here to stay.”
