Campgrounds Continue To Modernize And Improve Facilities For Visitors
As the nationwide interest in the great outdoors continues to soar, more consumers are flocking to nearby campsites to soak in the sunshine. In response, the campground industry has been booming, with revenue increasing along with amenities and the number of open campsites.
One example of this is Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts, which is enjoying record profits. The resort just set another all-time revenue record in 2022 and, last year, total revenues grew by 12.2% with same-park sales up 2.7%. In addition, over the last two years, revenues at the average Jellystone Park location have grown by 55% and average park sales are just past $3 million. This is the 16th consecutive year that Jellystone has seen a revenue increase.
Along with incredible financial success, Jellystone is revealing new amenities at 25 of its locations. These include multilevel water playgrounds, swim-up bars, ropes courses, and laser tag fields. More information on the new amenities being offered at specific locations can be found here.
Alongside the Jellystone Park franchise’s ongoing success, Luray RV Resort, located in Luray, VA, is expanding its 73 campsites to 350! The resort will be incorporating community-centered amenities like an amphitheater, resort-like pool, cabanas, and a recreational center with pickleball, basketball, mountain bike track, corn hole, and RC car track, according to a press release.
“The growth at Luray RV Resort on Shenandoah River is going to create a flourishing property for both our visitors and residents of Page County,” Kim Rhinehart, General Manager of Luray RV Resort on Shenandoah River, told RVBusiness. “In addition to the economic growth the expansion will bring, the upgraded amenities are elevating the camping experience to a resort-quality vacation, giving families the best of both worlds and will make them want to return year after year.”
The growth of the campground industry is a crucial component of the RV industry and other outdoor recreation sectors. For its part, the RV Industry Association is dedicated to working with the campground industry to further improve consumers’ outdoor experience.
