FEMA Invites Travel Trailer Manufacturers To Briefing On Accessible RVs
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is inviting all travel trailer manufacturers to a virtual briefing on March 31 to provide feedback on new accessible travel trailer designs. The session will be hosted by the Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS).
It is important to note that this briefing is information only. It is not a solicitation.
IBTS’ team of engineers and designers have worked with FEMA for the past several months to develop proposed designs that meet accessibility guidelines while also striving to give occupants a comfortable, welcoming environment. The goal is also for these designs be attractive for RV manufacturers to produce.
During the virtual briefing, the IBTS team will present these initial accessible designs, then ask for feedback from travel trailer manufacturers through an online survey. This feedback will help identify any manufacturing concerns and determine how well the designs meet the goals for creating accessible spaces that are livable and comfortable, and that present a worthwhile opportunity for travel trailer manufacturers.
Feedback from the RV industry is incredibly important to this effort as it will be used to shape the final design and approach for these travel trailers. Please take a moment to register for the briefing at the link below.
