FEMA Solicits RVs For Emergency Housing In North Carolina
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has just released a solicitation to obtain travel trailers and fifth wheel trailers available for immediate purchase. All trailer sold to FEMA shall be new, never used nor have been lent or rented, and must have been manufactured no earlier than March 1, 2017. A variety of trailers will be purchased with sleep capacity ranging from 3 to 8 persons. As many as 400 trailers could be purchased from this solicitation.
The trailers are for use in emergency housing in response to Hurricane Florence in North and South Carolina last month. FEMA is particularly wanting to work with RV dealers in North Carolina on this purchase request. Quotes from this solicitation are due by 2:00 PM EST on Friday, Oct. 19 . NC RV dealers are encouraged to send quotes to John Clemons at john.clemons@fema.dhs.gov.
For further information, please see the solicitation on the General Services Administration website.

FEMA has asked the RV Industry Association to alert our manufacturers to contact their dealers in North Carolina to make them aware of this opportunity as the cutoff date is rapidly approaching. RVDA is also contacting its members in NC about this solicitation.
It is highly likely that another purchase request will be promulgated soon by FEMA to assist with emergency housing needs in Florida resulting from last week's Hurricane Michael.
