Go RVing Experiential Tours Wow Large Crowd At X Games
The rain couldn’t dampen this past weekend’s X Games in Minneapolis where more than 119,000 fans with a love for competitive skateboarding, BMX and motocross gathered for the four-day event.
A combination of the tremendous turnout and placement of the booth proved to be a large success for the Go RVing experiential tours bringing in nearly 5,000 visitors to the display.
“The traffic exceeded our expectations,” said Jeff Armstrong of The Richards Group, Go RVing’s live events agency. “At every event that we attend, we use clickers to count the number of people who enter the RVs. Our four days at the X Games generated nearly double the number of tours compared to other Go RVing events.”
Go RVing hosts these tours to provide in-person RV experiences many may not have and exposing this lifestyle to others is what it’s all about. Throughout the weekend, guests coming through had a mixture of reactions: “Dad, I want to live here – can we buy?,” “Wow, RVs have come a long way from what I remember,” and “We get all of this for that price?”
“You could see eyes brighten and light bulbs flashing in their heads once they stepped inside,” said Armstrong. “Imagining the places they could go, planting those seeds, that’s what we do.”
The inclusion of athletes at the booth proved to be a big hit as fans lined up for pictures and autographs day after day. Go RVing worked through ESPN to secure appearances with five athletes who rotated in shifts at the booth. After all, it wouldn’t be a complete experience at the Games without meeting some of the pros.
“These were great, down-to-earth guys who really engaged with their fans,” said Armstrong. “They were a great addition to our exhibit and what a unique opportunity to draw crowds to our space, see RVS and introduce them to the lifestyle.”
