Go RVing Growing Audience With Instagram TV
In addition to the TikTok account launched last week, Go RVing has also expanded our social strategy to include Instagram TV (IGTV). To kick off Go RVing IGTV, the team posted episodes one and two of the video series, “6 Things I Love About My RV.” The six-part series follows Jeremy Puglisi, creator of The RV Atlas, as he introduces viewers to different types of RVs and their owners. In each episode, the owners of the RVs explain why they love their particular models. The series offers more insight into the specific features of each RV and will help potential RVers decide on which model they want to rent or buy.
While Instagram has offered the ability to post video for years, videos uploaded to an Instagram page are limited to a minute. With the IGTV feature, Go RVing can now post long-form videos up to 10 minutes, allowing us to share a more complete story with viewers. IGTV is also personalized for users, so videos that appeal to their interests will pop up along with videos from people they follow. These videos can be liked, commented on, and shared just like other Instagram posts.
Over the past two weeks since the IGTV videos have been posted, Go RVing’s Instagram analytics show a significant increase. The first episode of the “6 Things I Love About My RV” reached 11,500 individual accounts, received 4,775 views, and had 205 interactions. The second episode reached 16,500 individual accounts, received 6,988 views, and 313 interactions. As evident in the increased reach of the second video, the episodes are building a following and increasing in momentum.
Along with other posts on the Go RVing Instagram page, the IGTV videos helped contribute to a great two-week performance on Instagram. There was a 417% increase in accounts reached compared to the previous two weeks, 697% more impressions, 1,002% more profile visits, and 842% more website taps. The IGTV posts, paired with other promotional posts, have been undeniably beneficial in boosting the Go RVing Instagram channel. With the next episode in the “6 Things I Love About My RV” series coming soon, the stats are expected to continue to increase.
While Go RVing is still utilizing YouTube as a platform to share video, IGTV is a great addition to our strategy as it allows for a mix of image and video posts on one platform. Go RVing Instagram followers can easily navigate between image posts and video content without leaving the Instagram app. Another reason that IGTV is such a great option is that it is “natively mobile,” meaning that it is specifically designed to engage with a mobile audience. Finally, IGTV videos don’t have ads that play before the video, unlike YouTube. Viewers get to watch the content immediately, without ads to distract them.
