PA Representative Mercuri Visits Aliner, Talks Campground Modernization
PA State Representative Rob Mercuri paid a visit to Aliner’s manufacturing facility Tuesday morning. There, Aliner President and CEO Brett Randall gave key insight on the importance of outdoor recreation in the state, which generates $11.8 billion for Pennsylvania’s economy and employs just under 150,000 workers. Aliner is the largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles in the state, contributing nearly 100 of those positions.
Up for discussion was the topic of campground modernization. Since the passage of the Great American Outdoors Act, concerns about how the allocated funds are spent had Randall, chair of the RV Industry Association's Legislative committee, speaking out about the importance of the topic.
“When the money gets funneled, we want to ensure that it’s going towards enhancing the camping experience for Pennsylvanians.” said Randall during the visit, “The emerging generation of campers is a younger, more diverse demographic. They prefer digital means to access outdoor recreation and want to share their experiences across social media. In addition to the maintenance backlog, bathroom upgrades and reliable connectivity are critical.”
At Aliner, we strive to be an educational point of contact for state and federal legislators on the importance of increased investment in campgrounds on public lands. We are grateful for our representatives who support this mission and recognize the value of partnerships between the public and private sectors.
