Rental Groups Team Up To Provide ‘Road Trips For The Rock Stars’
Inspired by the spirit of the RV community and its efforts to provide support to those on the front lines of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic through efforts like RVs for MDs, GoCamp founder Deborah Kane started thinking about how the RV industry could not only help in the fight, but also celebrate those around us going above and beyond. Whether it is the health care workers, first responders, public leaders, mask sewers, grocery deliverers, essential workers, or that neighbor who has been there for you—they all deserve recognition. And from that, Road Trips for the Rock Stars was born.
But what began as an idea to provide free road trips to rock stars who will need to rest, recuperate and recharge when the worst of this pandemic is finally behind us, quickly evolved into a movement supported by 16 RV and Jeep rental companies who have put competition aside and come together for the same amazing cause. To date, these companies have pledged over 550 free nights of RV rentals.
The concept is simple. Anyone can nominate a rock start and nominations are open until Sunday, May 31. Next, the community will be asked to help decide which rock stars to send on a free trip. Voting will start in early June and winners will be selected by mid-June.
We in the industry know that a camping trip is the perfect antidote to today’s challenges, and hope you are encouraged to nominate a rock star today! Check out other inspiring submissions shared on the website, as well!
