RV Technical Institute And General RV Highlight RV Technician Career Path During Michigan School Counselor Association Conference
As millions of consumers continue to hit the road in an RV, the demand for technicians to service and repair those RVs has also increased. To keep up with this demand, the RV Technical Institute is constantly looking for ways to recruit and train the next generation of RV technicians.
As part of these recruitment efforts, the RV Technical Institute has been attending American School Counselor Association Conferences to share information with high school counselors on the RV service technician career path. In turn, the Institute encourages counselors to share the opportunity with interested students. Recently, they attended the Michigan School Counselor Association Conference. Approximately 500 K-12 Michigan school counselors attended.
For the duration of the Michigan event, the RV Technical Institute partnered with General RV, one of its Authorized Learning Partners, to highlight the opportunities offered by the RV service technician career path. Along with the Institute, General RV is also eager to recruit and train RV service technicians. General RV, a premier RV dealer and family-owned company, operates 14 dealerships across the country with more than 500 service bays. Their efforts to introduce more individuals to a career path within the RV industry also expands beyond service technicians to additional roles ranging from parts and warranty to training and corporate office support.
“General RV is very grateful to be able to partner with the RV Technical Institute, and we look forward to fulfilling our unified goal of increasing awareness in RV-related careers,” said Katie Boley, Recruiting Operations Manager at General RV. “The Michigan School Counselors Association Conference provided a prime opportunity to connect with those who have an early impact on career decision making,” she added. “Through the connections made, we will be able to continue to educate individuals on the benefits and valuable potential the RV industry has to offer.”
