RVX: The RV Experience To Be An Integral Part Of Go RVing’s Kickoff To Camping Season
Go RVing, the all-industry marketing campaign uniting RV manufacturers, dealers and campgrounds, will engage in an extensive PR campaign designed to kick off the national camping and RV season in the spring of 2019. The industry’s new national event, RVX: The RV Experience, being held March 12- 14, 2019 in Salt Lake City, will serve as a key element in Go RVing’s marketing push to get consumers excited about camping season. The campaign will use the RVX event as a platform to promote RVing and will continue the promotion through the summer months as consumers engage in getting outdoors and experiencing camping and the RV lifestyle. Strategically positioned during the spring, the RVX event is designed to showcase new products being unveiled to the market, as well as innovation that will drive consumer interest at the perfect time of year.
“The timing of RVX coincides with the start of the RV travel season in many parts of the country, said Phil Ingrassia, RVDA president. “Go RVing will be able to leverage the excitement of the event to tell a compelling story about the industry’s latest product innovations.”
One of the cornerstones of RVX will be “The Reveal”, an exciting event featuring the best of the best industry products. Scheduled for Tuesday, March 12th, the opening day at RVX, dealers, manufacturers, suppliers and the media will be able to view a highly curated product introduction that will be streamed live into thousands of consumer households through Go RVing’s marketing platforms and channels. This event is designed to excite consumers just as they are planning their spring and summer vacations.
“The Go RVing campaign reaches millions of consumers every year, and we are excited about ratcheting up our spring promotion to get potential customers excited about visiting RV dealerships,” said Karen Redfern, vice president, brand marketing & communications for Go RVing. “The Reveal event will enable us to build on our ongoing promotional efforts, by showcasing new, innovative RVs and supplier products to consumers across the nation just as camping season is about to get started for much of the country.
“Part of the allure of the newly designed RVX event is the consumer outreach potential,” said Troy James, president, Dutchmen and chairman of the RV Industry Association Events Committee. “Go RVing already drives so much consumer interest around the RV lifestyle, and by working with their media outlets and aligning our promotion with their social influencers, it will both highlight our industry’s latest products to consumers and get them motivated to go out to their local dealer and search for their perfect RV.”
Dealers who attend RVX will reap significant benefits in the format of a dealer tool kit and tie in program. The tool kit, designed to help dealers reach consumers in their local markets more effectively, is currently being developed to include access to research and data as well as assist their social media and advertising campaigns. Dealers attending the RVX event will be provided this tool kit free of charge, along with specific education sessions on ways to drive sales, hire and retain talent and more.
“The value derived from attending the show will be at a much different level than what has been presented in the past,” said Liz Crawford, senior vice president, trade shows & events for the RV Industry Association. “We hope to have maximum dealer participation but realize it’s a busy time for everyone. We firmly believe that dealers in attendance will leave better equipped to drive more sales into their dealerships.”
