US Rep. Jackie Walorski To Attend RV Technical Institute Grand Opening

US Rep. Jackie Walorski, from Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District, will be on hand to help open the brand-new RV Technical Institute on Sept. 23. The Grand Opening celebration will feature an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. followed by tours of the new facility that features seven classrooms and 10,000 square feet of bay space for hands-on technical training.

“Northern Indiana is the RV Capital of the World, and Hoosiers know the RV industry plays a key role in growing our economy and is leading the way to strengthen our manufacturing workforce for the 21st century,” said Rep. Jackie Walorski. “The Grand Opening of the RV Technical Institute in Elkhart will mark the beginning of a new chapter in American manufacturing, and I look forward to celebrating this exciting occasion.”

Over the past several decades the country has steered a generation towards a single goal of earning a college degree, which has led to a nationwide epidemic of crippling student debt. At the same time, we’ve abandoned investment in developing young skilled workers, while the demand for skilled labor has skyrocketed. The grand opening of the RV Technical Institute’s education hub in Elkhart, along with the completion of the level one curriculum is a first step in aggressively solving the industry's shortage of trained technicians and the RV industry and the Elkhart community are committed to addressing the nationwide need for qualified service technicians.

Walorski can join us during the Grand Opening of the RV Technical Institute this September,” said RV Technical Institute Executive Director Curt Hemmeler. “The RV industry is proud to lead the way in showing how the development of technical skills can lead to long-lasting and rewarding careers.”
