Go RVing Uses Real RVers To Create RV Orchestra Commercial To Promote Addams Family 2 Movie
Lights, camera, SNAP!
Family RV trips are synonymous with summer, but this fall, a family favorite movie franchise is extending the travel season in a spooky way. “The Addams Family 2” animated sequel sees the mysterious and kooky family taking a very “Addams” RV across the country, visiting iconic American landmarks. Go RVing teamed up with Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) to promote Addams Family 2, available in-theaters and via at-home viewing beginning Friday, October 1.
The commercial was created during a meet-up of real RVers who served as the actors in the production along with their own RVs. Go RVing worked with these RVers to create an incredible performance in an idyllic, desolate location in Firehole Wyoming for a creepy, nighttime performance. The RVs were lined up as an orchestra and used as instruments to recreate the famous “Snap Snap” Addams Family theme song.
Real RV owners brought the song to life and were captured making the sounds by using their RV horns, doors slamming, ice cubes falling, microwaves, playing games, bike bells, grills, cabinets, and more. The mastermind conducting our amazing RV orchestra is none other than Thing who is seen frantically waving around his baton.
Thirty and 15 second versions of the commercial are airing through the end of October across multiple sports and cable networks, including:
- ESPN
- Big Ten Network
- MLB Network
- Turner Sports
- TBS
- Comedy Central
- Turner FEB
- Tru TV
- A&E
- SyFy
- TV Land
- Paramount
- TNT
- FYI
- Outside TV
- Discovery Premiere
- Discovery FEP
- Cadent
Digital versions will also begin airing on YouTube and social media including Go RVing. Look for a Tik Tok challenge to the RV community to recreate a sequence of the “Snap Snap” song and for versions of the spot to air until the end of October.
More information about the movie can be found on the Go RVing website where you can see the full 60 second version of the ad, character quotes about the RV trip, and you can take a deeper look at the haunted Addams Family camper.
