The Journey For Trained RV Technicians Begins Here
On Sept. 23, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., the RV Technical Institute will be hosting the Grand Opening of its brand-new training facility in Elkhart, Ind. I hope that you can join us as we commemorate this milestone achievement and fully embark on our journey to bring new, trained RV technicians into the industry.
The opening of the facility will launch a new chapter in the field of RV technicians, training both locally in Elkhart, and across the country. This is the final step in the first phase of a process that started more than one year ago when the boards of the RV Industry Association and RV Dealer Association directed our team to create a new program that standardizes training on a national level and addresses the RV service technician shortage to improve repair event cycle time (RECT). We are excited to show you the progress that we have made over the past year and what the team has been working to stand up.
While this is a momentous step for the industry, it is by no means the end of our work, as we continue to expand the training curriculum and bring in new regional partners.
The culmination of this celebration has truly been a complete industry effort with support from all facets of the RV community. We deeply appreciate the time that our subject matter experts have spent working with us over the past year to develop the new curriculum and thank them for their unwavering support and investment in the launch and development of the RV Technical Institute. We are confident this new approach to service and training will bring more technicians into our all-American industry, ultimately creating a better experience for RV consumers.
I would also like to thank our donors who have provided us with equipment and tools needed for the new facility and for our hands-on training courses.
I'd like to personally invite you to drop by for the Grand Opening celebration on Monday, September 23, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., during Open House week. U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski will lead the official ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by tours of the facility. If you are unable to attend our Grand Opening, additional tours will be provided throughout the week for those who want to see the new facility.
We hope you will join us in celebrating this new chapter in RV technician training!
