About the Journey:
As the Manager of Federal Affairs, you'll play a vital role in advancing the RV industry’s federal advocacy efforts. You’ll work directly with members of Congress, their staff, and key decision-makers in the Administration to promote outdoor recreation, create opportunities for RV enthusiasts across the country, and keep the RV lifestyle thriving.
You’ll represent the association at national and regional meetings, collaborate with influential coalitions, and work closely with RVIA members and committees to support key policy initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and success of the RV industry while championing the outdoor lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities
- Advance federal government affairs initiatives to support the RV industry's priorities, especially in the outdoor recreation space.
- Assist in developing federal legislative and regulatory policies.
- Collaborate with the Director of Federal Affairs to develop and execute advocacy strategies and oversee lobbying initiatives.
- Draft internal policy documents and external correspondence for government officials and RVIA members.
- Lobby federal government officials to promote and protect the RV industry.
- Serve as a key point person, alongside leadership and consultants, for RVIA’s annual Advocacy Day.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of government affairs website content.
- Work with coalitions to advance shared priorities.
- File quarterly lobbying disclosure reports in compliance with federal requirements.
- Help develop and execute the government affairs strategic plan.
- Manage special projects to support the association's advocacy goals.
- Provide support to the Government Affairs Director, Senior Director, and Vice President as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in political science or related field required.
- Experience working on Capitol Hill for a member of Congress or Congressional Committee preferred.
- Experience working for a federal agency such as the Department of the Interior, Department of Transportation, Department of Commerce, or other agencies related to the RV industry preferred.
- Law degree, master’s degree in political science or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years working for a national trade association preferred.
Additional Information
- The RV Industry Association offers a flexible work environment that allows for remote work while also offering office space in Herndon, Virginia.
- This position may require occasional travel to industry events.
- Preferred candidates will reside in the DC/Northern Virginia area.
