Supporting Non-Metallic Sheathed Cable (Romex) Routed to Non-Metallic Outlet Boxes or Self-Contained Receptacles

Non-metallic sheathed cable (Romex) routed to non-metallic outlet boxes and self-contained receptacles is required to be supported within a specified distance of the device. This document will explain these support requirements for non-metallic sheathed cable routed to both non-metallic outlet boxes and self-contained receptacles. Support for non-metallic sheathed cable routed to metallic outlet boxes is covered under a different code paragraph and will be addressed in a separate Education Series Document.
